Just completed Appalachian mountain banjo #2. Pretty much the same as #1 but this time with a wooden sound chamber (sound better) and with some naive mountain style carving around the mid section.

I love these things... the brutalist architecture of the banjo world - solid, tough and primitive... and they sound great.
The wood is from an old (C1920s) piano - Poplar  with walnut veneer. The whole thing was made using the most basic of  tools in order to keep it looking close to those made by the mountain  guys of the past... Im not keen on these banjos looking too slick.
